There are a lot of Mac users that prefer to use third party email applications such as Microsoft Outlook. For those users it can be extremely irritating to click on an email link on a website and the Mac Mail App opens instead. In this short video tutorial I will show you how to quickly change your default email application on a Mac.
The Mail App that comes in Mac OS X is great if your email needs are relatively basic. If you are like me, it is important for me to keep all of my business activities in one place, such as reminders, calendars and email. Apps such as Spark, Newton, Airmail 3 and Microsoft Outlook are some of the preferred email applications out there for users like myself.
**Spark – Love Your Email Again – FREE**
My go-to Mail application is Spark. First and foremost, it is free. Who doesn’t like free things? More importantly, they make iPhone and iPad versions of their mail application too. So I can have a consistent experience across all of my devices.
Spark also has some nice advanced features, 3rd party App integration, calendars, reminders and more. This is my daily go-to App to keep my life organized and has everything I need in one convenient place.
In my opinion, the best feature by far is how Spark separates personal messages from notifications and newsletters. These are Smart notifications and filters. You can also Pin emails to keep them in their own list to quickly find them again.
Keeping my life organized, whether at home or for business, is extremely important to me. The Mail App in Mac OS X just doesn’t cut it, so check out some of the others below to find what works for you.
